Permit to Transfer

Signed at pickup. Matched instantly on upload.

Logixa generates the PTT and hands it to the driver. Once the port authority signs it and the driver photographs it back in, Logixa matches it to the right shipment, updates status, and sends the customer a recovery notice — the moment it happens, not whenever someone gets through the day's paperwork.

    visibility

Know a transfer happened the moment it's signed, not the next morning.

How Logixa closes the loop on every PTT.

The permit still gets signed by hand at the dock. Traditionally, that paperwork just gets carried until the driver's shift ends, then reconciled by hand. With Logixa, everything after the signature — matching it to the shipment, updating status, telling the customer — happens the moment it's photographed.

    1. 01

      Generate

Logixa generates the Permit to Transfer with the MAWB already printed on it and hands it to the driver before pickup.

    2. 02

      Sign

At pickup, the driver fills in the details and gets it signed by the port authority.

    3. 03

      Capture

The driver photographs the signed permit and uploads it from the app, right at the dock.

    4. 04

      Match & notify

Logixa matches the photo to the right shipment, updates its status, and sends the customer a recovery notice automatically.

On paper, you find out at the end of the day.

Every signed permit that rides along until the driver's shift ends is a shipment your team can't confirm, can't bill, and can't update the customer on — for hours, sometimes until the next morning.

    Before

    Manual, end of shift

    • Signed permits ride along in a folder until the driver's shift ends.
    • Someone manually reconciles that stack of paperwork against the system of record.
    • The business has zero visibility until reconciliation happens — often the next morning.

    After

    Automatic, same day

    • Logixa gets the update the moment the permit is photographed, not at end of shift.
    • Every signed Permit to Transfer is matched and reconciled automatically.
    • Status is current all day, not just after someone catches up on filing.

    Permit to Transfer, answered.

What is a Permit to Transfer (PTT) in freight?

A Permit to Transfer is a U.S. Customs authorization that lets imported cargo move under bond from a port or airline terminal to a Container Freight Station, bonded warehouse, or FTZ within the same port district, before a formal customs entry is filed.

How is a PTT different from an Immediate Transportation (IT) entry?

A PTT covers a local transfer within the same CBP port district — a terminal to a nearby CFS, for example. An IT covers movement to a different port district. Logixa matches and tracks the PTT; it doesn't change which one a shipment needs.

Why does it matter if a PTT is matched right away instead of at the end of the day?

Traditionally, drivers carry their signed paper PTTs until a shift ends, and the business gets no visibility until someone manually reconciles that stack against the system of record — often the next morning. Logixa matches the photo the moment it's uploaded, so status, billing, and the customer notice are all current the same day, not the next one.

What happens if a driver's uploaded PTT photo is unclear?

If Logixa can't confidently match an uploaded PTT photo to a shipment, it flags the permit for manual review instead of guessing — so a blurry or partial photo never gets matched to the wrong shipment.

How does Logixa know which shipment a PTT belongs to?

Logixa generates the Permit to Transfer for a specific shipment before it ever goes out. When the driver uploads the signed photo, it's matched back to that shipment automatically, its status updates, and the customer gets a recovery notice confirming their cargo is on its way.

Who is automatic PTT matching built for?

Operations and billing teams at freight forwarders and CFS operators who spend real hours every week matching signed paperwork to shipments and updating customers by hand instead of moving freight.
