What hardware do I need for in-trailer RFID?
Each trailer needs a vehicle-rated cellular gateway with roof-mounted LTE/GPS antenna, a UPS for power continuity, a vehicle-rated PoE+ injector, a fixed RAIN UHF RFID reader, two to four ceiling-mounted UHF panel antennas in the cargo zone, and a magnetic door sensor. Packages are tagged with standard RAIN UHF (EPC Gen2) labels at unit creation.

Yes. The trailer reader runs an on-device edge agent that buffers reads locally during cellular dead zones, tunnels, or rural routes. When connectivity returns, the gateway flushes the entire batch over LTE/5G with retry and exponential backoff. No data is lost.
